CSSE 11+ · Maths · PDF
Every topic on the CSSE Maths paper, nineteen chapters from column arithmetic to charts and tables: a method in five steps, a worked example with the mark scheme and the answers that lose marks, the traps, and ten questions with working space. Then a timed test of twenty questions and sixty marks, as the real paper.
Also in The CSSE bundle: both guides at £12.99 for 2 guides.
Who it is for
For a child sitting the Essex 11+, where every answer is written out and the working earns marks. Multiple-choice practice does not prepare for that. Each question here has working space and a mark scheme, so a parent can mark it as the examiner would and see exactly where a mark went. The book is built to the paper: sixty marks, one hour, no calculator.

What is inside
Then the timed test, every answer with its reason, a glossary and a progress page.
A PDF, A4, made to read on a tablet or print at home. It is licensed to your household and every page carries your name and email, so please keep it in the family. Download it up to five times a month from the guides page; it stays on your account.

Every practice question in the book was generated and checked by machine, then read by a person before it went in. The answers at the back give the reason for every one, so a child who gets a question wrong can see why, not just that. If you find a fault, email info@uplift-learning.co.uk and it will be corrected in the next edition.

Questions
The CSSE 11+, sat for the Essex grammar schools including KEGS, CCHS, Colchester Royal Grammar, Colchester County High, Westcliff, Southend High and the others in the consortium. It is written-answer, and so is this book.
They follow the CSSE's own style: a mark for the method and a mark for the answer, and the answers page names the common wrong answers and which mark each one loses.
Twenty questions worth sixty marks in sixty minutes, one harder question from every chapter plus two extra, so the test covers the paper the way the paper covers the syllabus.
