How I collect, use and protect your information. Written in plain English, because you should not need a solicitor to understand what happens to your data.

Uplift Learning is a sole trader tuition service run by Mehar Singh, providing online one-to-one Maths and Science tuition. I am the data controller for any personal information described on this page.
You can reach me by email at info@uplift-learning.co.uk or on WhatsApp at 07766 005271.
If you use the enquiry form on this website, I collect the information you type into it:
Please do not include medical details, or anything else sensitive, in the message box. If it is relevant we can discuss it directly.
I will have your phone number, your name as it appears on your account, and the messages you send. WhatsApp itself is operated by Meta and has its own privacy policy.
To teach effectively I keep basic records: your child's first name, year group, the topics we are working on, notes on their progress, and your contact details for scheduling and updates.
This is a simple website. I do not run advertising trackers or analytics on it. My hosting provider may keep standard server logs, which usually include IP addresses, as part of running the service securely.
Payments are processed by Monzo and Stripe. Card details are entered on their secure pages, never on this website, and I never see or store them. I keep a record of the amount, the date and which student the payment relates to, because I am required to keep basic financial records.
I do not sell your information, and I do not send marketing emails. The only email the platform sends is the Sunday progress summary, which you can switch off on the parent view or from the link in the email.
Quiz results never leave your device. The free practice quizzes on this site are marked entirely inside your browser. Scores and attempt history are saved using your browser's local storage, on that device only.
I do not receive them, I cannot see them, and they are not sent to any server. Clearing your browser data deletes them permanently.
The only exception is the "Send my results to Mehar" button. That opens WhatsApp with a message you can choose to send. Nothing is shared unless you press send.
Separately from the free quizzes above, this site now offers accounts. Everything in this section applies only if you create one. You can use the whole site, and every free worksheet and quiz, without ever signing up.
For you, the parent: your name, your email address, and a password you choose. If you sign in with Google I receive your name and email address from Google, and never your Google password. I also keep a record of which version of these permissions you agreed to, and when.
For each child you add: their first name, their school year, their age if you choose to give it, and what they are working towards. No surname, no date of birth, no address, no school, and no photograph.
Their login: children do not use an email address. The platform creates a username and you choose their password. You can see and change both from your own account at any time. A child cannot change the email on the account, cannot see any payment details, and cannot be contacted by anyone through the platform. There is no chat, no messaging and no way for one child to find another.
Once a child is using an account, the platform keeps a record of the work set for them, which pieces they have finished, the answers they gave, whether each was right, how long they spent, and their scores over time. It also keeps points and streaks, which exist only to encourage them. This is the whole point of having an account: without it there is nothing to build a progress report from.
For English writing that a person has to mark, what your child wrote is stored so that it can be marked and returned. This cannot be switched off separately, because there is no way to mark writing without keeping it. You can delete everything at any time.
Account and progress information is stored by Supabase, in a database hosted in London. Passwords are stored by Supabase in a scrambled form that cannot be read back, including by me. Payment details never touch this platform at all: Stripe handles those on their own pages.
You can export everything held about your family, or delete a child's account and all of their work, from your own dashboard, or by messaging me. Deleting a child removes their login and every answer, score and report belonging to them. Accounts that go unused for 24 months are deleted automatically, without you having to ask.
Running the site and lessons means a few other companies process small amounts of information:
Each has its own privacy policy. I share only what is needed to provide the service, and never for advertising.
If you type your email address into the "11+ letter" box, I record the address, the page you were on and the time, and send one email asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent until you click the link in it. Once confirmed, the address is added to a list held by Resend, the service that sends the letters, and you get an email from me when there is something worth knowing, never more than one a fortnight. Every letter has an unsubscribe link; clicking it stops the letters at once and I keep only the record that you asked to stop. Unconfirmed addresses are deleted after 30 days.
Platform accounts: deleted automatically after 24 months without use, and at any time from your dashboard.
You can ask me to delete your information sooner at any time.
I teach children, so I take this seriously. I only hold what is genuinely needed to teach: usually a first name, year group and progress notes.
Enquiries should come from a parent or guardian, not from a child. If a child contacts me directly I will ask to speak to a parent before going further. A parent may exercise all the rights below on their child's behalf.
Please also read my safeguarding statement, which covers how lessons are conducted safely.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
Just message me and I will deal with it within one month, free of charge.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you will not see a cookie banner.
The practice quizzes use your browser's local storage to remember your scores on your own device, as described in section 4. That data is not a cookie, is never transmitted, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings. If you sign in to an account, your browser also stores a sign in token so you are not asked for your password on every page. It is not a tracking cookie and signing out removes it.
If I change how I handle information I will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant I will tell current families directly.
Ask me anything about this policy, or request a copy or deletion of your information.
