Free · Years 4 to 9 · Marked instantly
One paper for your child's year, sat on screen and marked the moment it is handed in. You see every question, every answer, and the topics where the marks went, so the practice that follows is aimed rather than guessed.
No card. Nothing that turns into a payment.
How it works
Your name, an email and a password. Free.
Their first name and school year. The Starting Point is set for them straight away.
On a laptop or tablet, with a clock. It is marked the moment they hand it in.

Sitting GL rather than the CSSE? Message me before your child starts and I will switch them to the GL-style paper for their year, verbal reasoning included.
What you get
Your child's answer beside the right one, for every question, so you can see whether a mark went on a slip or on something they have not learned.
Marks grouped by topic, with the ones under 80% named. That is the list worth an evening, not the whole syllabus.
From the next week, the free worksheets and quizzes set for your child are chosen from those topics, and a topic that went badly comes back a few days later to check the second go has stuck.
Questions
Yes. It needs a free parent account so the result can be kept and shown to you, and nothing else: no card, no trial, nothing that turns into a payment.
Any time, but it is most useful at the start of a school year or a term, before the practice is planned. For the 11+, the start of Year 5 is the classic moment: the foundations are in and there is a year to work on what it shows. The thinking behind that is in the Year 4 article.
It helps to be nearby the first time, for the login and to keep it quiet. If the clock is going to run out and they need longer, you can add extra time from your own account while they are sitting it, and their paper picks it up within fifteen seconds.
It is a starting point, so each child sits it once. After that, the weekly practice is what shows the change.
Free, marked the moment it is handed in, and the start of everything chosen for your child after it.
